Bream Bay College is situated in Ruakākā, Northland New Zealand. We are a co-ed year 7-13 School. We are a proud community focused school serving the stunning Bream Bay area. Our school culture reflects the unique history of our region, connecting the first people of
our area, Patuharakeke, the first modern immigrants from Scotland and the many other cultures that are now part of the fabric of our region.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced specialist teacher who is a passionate advocate for inclusive education to work with a student funded through the Ongoing Resourcing Scheme (ORS). This vital role focuses on providing specialised educational support for students with very high learning needs, ensuring they receive a quality, tailored education. You will be part of a fantastic learning support team to deliver flexible, learner-centred, and future-focused learning.
The successful candidate will:
● work with our neurodivergent students for 8 hours per week with an extra 2 hours for planning.
● deliver a programme that supports our students to progress
● contribute to the development and preparation of teaching resources
● collaborate with teachers, whānau, and other support staff to ensure thewellbeing and success of our neurodivergent students.

Attendance Administration:
- Provide confidential, comprehensive administrative support to the Attendance Team, ensuring compliance with all school attendance policies and procedures.
- Accurately record and account for student attendance data.
- Manage communication regarding attendance notifications with parents/caregivers (inbound and outbound).
Student Care:
- Offer compassionate and professional care to students utilising the sick bay
- Reception & Communication:
- Ensure all interactions—in person, via email, or over the telephone — with caregivers, visitors, staff, and students are handled promptly, courteously, and professionally, thereby enhancing the positive image of the school.

- Is well organised and has a strong eye for detail
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is competent in using a variety of IT systems and databases.
- Is reliable and willing to take on a variety of tasks.

Prior to the commencement of employment, a police background check for this position will be required.
A current First Aid certificate is preferred; however, training will be provided to the successful applicant.
